A white ring surrounds each of the tubes so that the sights can still easily be identified during daylight. The glass vial of pressurized tritium gas is wrapped in an aluminum tube cushioned by silicon rubber for protection. This allows for the best possible visibility at night time, with the front insert being slightly larger than the rear. ![]() Give your trusty Glock 19 aiming ability in low or even no light situations.Ī sapphire lens enhances the glow of the tritium, which is contained in a tiny sealed vial for the front and rear sights. This really is a great match as AmeriGlo are masters in crafting precise and accurate sights while Trijicon leads the way in tritium technology. In close however, they are awesome for fast target acquisition. The sights in either color may or may not add in benefits at range, but they don't seem to cause any problems. The largeness of the front sight sometimes makes alignment with the single dot rear sight cumbersome. I have both the single dot U notch sights and the dual dot U notch sights and I have to say the dual dot work a lot better than the single dot at range. However, the gun I do this with has quite a few upgrades beyond the sights that maybe the reason it works so well. I have shot very well with my orange sighted glock at 25 yards, the largeness of the front sight doesn't impede accuracy at range/cover the target too much for me at all. However, with smaller targets and further targets, it became harder for me to get good hits under stress, where I could get those hits a lot easier with the stock sights that have a very different ratio of front sight width / rear notch width. Put the yellow/orange dot right in front of what you want to shoot and that is where it will hit. I find that I am more accurate if I have less open space when looking through my sights. I just bought a 17 and I am looking for something a little different, specifically for the reason you mentioned about the wide rear notch. I have had the Trijicon HDs on my 26 and 19.
